L.; Поночовний, Юрій ЛеонідовичThe increasing of energy consumptions and attempts to use Management and Control System based on cloud computing technologies for ensuring normal work of the critical energy infrastructure (CEI) are made serious demands for analyzing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Cloud availability level. In this paper, a new perspective unified platform for determining of availability level of the IaaS Cloud pertaining to the information components of the CEI is described. In fact Semi-Markov Modeling Process for assess of overall availability level of the IaaS Cloud with multiple pools of physical and virtual machines based on a novel Availability as a Cloud Service platform in order to improve effectiveness of CEI was presented by authors.Item Availability Assessment of a Cloud Server System: Comparing Markov and Semi-Markov Models(Cracow, Poland, 2021-09-22) Ivanchenko, O.; Kharchenko, V.; Moroz, B.; Ponochovnyi, Y. L.; Degtyareva, L. M.; Поночовний, Юрій Леонідович; Дегтярьова, Лариса МиколаївнаNowadays Markov Modelling Processes (MMP) found widely use into realm pertaining to availability assessments of diverse complex. technical systems and devices. In this regard, Cloud Server Systems (CSSs) are no exception. However, in order to leverage MMPs for the availability evaluation of CSSs the researchers should take into account that this assessmet procedure based on the utilization of just one distributio that is exponential distribution of times to failure, times 10 repair et prelit events and impacts. In that regard, that some groups of researchers into realm pertaining to CSSs availability are increasingly trying to leverage approaches based on Sem Markov Modelling Processes (SMMPs). Using SMMPs the researchers can consider more number of parametric characteristics and have a realistic picture as regards of availability level for the server system addition, seeking to improve overall availability of CSSs, the results for SMMPs in the so-called borders’ states, when Non-Markovian Process transforms at Markovian Process.Item Availability model of two-zone physical security system considering degradation level from cyber attacks and software update(2020-05) Degtyareva, L. M.; Kharchenko, V.; Ponochovnyi, Y. L.; Al-Khafaji, Ahmed Waleed; Ivanchenko, O.; Uzun, D.; Дегтярьова, Лариса Миколаївна; Поночовний, Юрій ЛеонідовичItem Cloud Video System Availability Assessment Using Markov and Semi-Markov Models(Lviv-Slavske, Ukraine, 2022-02-22) Ivanchenko, O.; Kharchenko, V.; Udovyk, I.; Ponochovnyi, Y. L.; Поночовний, Юрій ЛеонідовичComparative analysis of Markovian and Semi- Markovian modelling for cloud video system availability is performed considering its architecture and dependability characteristics of various components, Initial data for modelling is based on review of research and operation data of cloud systems. The results of modelling provide decision making related to choice of technique of modelling and availability assessment. Besides, they contributes to ensuring the high availability of cloud systems and can be used by developers in order to address the issues into DevOps engineering area.Item Combining Markov and Semi-Markov Modelling for Assessing Availability and Cybersecurity of Cloud and IoT Systems(2022) Kharchenko, V.; Ponochovnyi, Y. L.; Ivanchenko, O.; Fesenko, H.; Illiashenko, O.; Поночовний, Юрій ЛеонідовичItem Dependability Assessment for SCADA System Considering Usage of Cloud Resources(2020-05) Ivanchenko, O.; Kharchenko, V.; Brezhnev, E.; Ponochovnyi, Y. L.; Moroz, B.; Kabak, L.; Поночовний, Юрій ЛеонідовичControl (SCADA) system is one the most significant cyber-oriented components of management circuit for any complex hierarchical infrastructure. The effectiveness and performance of the SCADA system depends on a number of relevant factors including a possibility to utilize additional cloud resources. Of particular note, the cloud services ean apply in order to create concurrent redundant system for implementation of disaster recovery feature of SCADA information resources during different deliberate malicious impacts and intrusions. However, in spite of the fact that usage of the cloud services allow to enhance functionality of SCADA system, there are dependability and cybersecurity’ aspects for their joint utilization hat keep to remain a serious challenge for service personnel and users. In this paper, authors propose to employ analytical and stochastic modelling in order to get a numerical dependability assessment for SCADA system with realization of the cloud resourcing support considering influence of diverse negative factors, Furthermore, developers can utilize these modelling results in order to perform justification of overall functional requirements of the SCADA system.Item Model of information and control systems in smart buildings with separate maintenance by reliability and security(CEUR-WS, 2018) Kharchenko, V.; Ponochovnyi, Y. L.; Abdulmunem, A.-S.M.Q.; Ivasiuk, A.; Ivanchenko, O.; Поночовний, Юрій ЛеонідовичThis article presents the information and control system of smart building is considered as a set of subsystems including a building automation system (BAS). BAS security and availability during its life cycle are assessed using the Markov models. Markov model is used to develop number of strategies which help to recover system and elimination all the possibility threat, during life of systems. Strategies of developing Markov models for describing the recovery of system components after an attack or a software failure are discussed. The use of Markov models is usually justified by the customer's requirements for a specific criterion for assessing the quality of the system.Item Models for Cloud System Availability Assessment Considering Attacks on CDN and ML Based Parametrization(Gliwice, Poland, 2022-05-12) Ponochovnyi, Y. L.; Ivanchenko, O.; Kharchenko, V.; Udovyk, I.; Baiev, E.; Поночовний, Юрій ЛеонідовичThe article proposes a method for assessing the availability of the cloud system taking into account the variable dynamics of attacks on vulnerabilities Content Delivery Network (CDN), The architecture of the cloud system for video hosting services is detailed, on the basis of which an example of simulation in the conditions of cyberattacks, software and hardware failures is given. An availability model based on the Reliability Block Diagram (RBD), a Markov model (MMC) with constant parameters of failure and recovery rates, and a multifragment (MFM) model with a variable parameter that estimates the probability of attacks have been developed and studied. Two scenarios of events that affect the availability of the system are considered: the first - in the absence of attacks on the CDN component; the second - in attacks that cause an increase in the CDN failure rate to the limit level. A comparative analysis of RBD, MMC and MFM and assessment of discrepancies in the simulation results were performed. The use of Big Data analytics and ML tools is proposed for parametrization of models. The obtained simulation results can be used not only by users of cloud systems, but also by Cloud Service Providers (CSP) to improve planning procedures and risk assessment of failures.Item Semi-Markov availability model for infrastructure as a service cloud considering hidden failures of physical machines(CEUR-WS, 2017) Ivanchenko, O.; Kharchenko, V.; Ponochovnyi, Y. L.; Blindyuk, I.; Smoktii, O.Results of researches in different areas of science and technique confirm that an effective route in order to solve important tasks is the possibility of migrating data resource within the cloud. Therefore Cloud Computing services including Infrastructure as a Service Cloud (IaaS Cloud) should have high availability level. It is serious problem, because even large cloud providers face with sudden failures of IaaS Cloud. It comes no surprise, that scientists consider taxonomy of this system on base of using overall underlying components, such as physical machines (PMs) and virtual machines (VMs). However cloud providers should always remember that hidden failures of PMs are one of the main causes of damage for their cloud assets. In this paper we propose approach on base of using Semi-Markov model in order to determine availability level for the IaaS Cloud with Technical State Control System.
