dc.description.abstractThe article presents the findings of a study on the blood leukocyte differential in cats with varying infection intensities of cystoisosporosis (Cystoisospora spp.), conducted during 2025–2026 in Kyiv. Examining 18 cats divided into a healthy control group and two infected groups (<500 oocysts/g and >500 oocysts/g), the study demonstrated that hematological shifts depend directly on parasitic load. At high infection intensity (>500 oocysts/g), a marked 2.2-fold increase in eosinophils (3.3±0.8%, P<0.01) and a 2-fold increase in band neutrophils (2.0±0.6%, P<0.05) were recorded, indicating an acute inflammatory response with a left shift. At lower infection intensity (<500 oocysts/g), mild eosinophilia (1.4-fold increase, P<0.05) accompanied by a 1.5-fold increase in monocytes (3.5±0.5%, P<0.05) was observed, reflecting a chronic course and activation of cellular immunity.
