V.; Krasota, O. G.; Писаренко, Віктор Микитович; Піщаленко, Марина Анатоліївна; Бараболя, Ольга Валеріївна; Красота, Олена ГригорівнаMistletoe (Viscum album L.) white is the only plant on the Earth that has a unique substance that paralyses cancer cells and simultaneously stimulates human immunity. However, despite its curative properties, mistletoe white has so far caused considerable damage to tree plantations in human settlements, acting not only as a parasitic plant, but also as a spreader of various diseases of woody plants. Mistletoe, being an inseparable component of tree plantations, both natural and urbanized ecosystems, settling on trees. Then it begins to destroy them intensively. This is why the question of protection of trees from mistletoe white is relevant at present. The purpose of the article is research the state of tree species in park zones of Poltava concerning their damage by white mistletoe (Viscum album L.). The article presents the results of the analysis of the state of the main tree species of the park zones of Poltava city of concerning their lesion by white mistletoe during 2017‒2022. According to the results of the study identified tree species, which due to their species biologo-physiological features are affected more and vice versa show greater resistance to damage by mistletoe white (Viscum album L.). Recommendations for improving the species composition of tree species in park areas of Poltava, taking into account their resistance to mistletoe white damage, have been formulated. For the first time, we studied the degree of damage to deciduous trees in the park areas of Poltava, and set the degree of damage to trees affected by white mistletoe depending on their species biology and physiology, particularly, the structure and thickness of the bark. The influence of species-specific biologic and physiological features of tree species in the park areas of Poltava on the degree of their lesion by mistletoe white has been established. The most resistant woods have been determined, which can be recommended for renewal of the species composition of the dendroflora of the park zones of the urban ecosystem.Item Differential species traits of Trichostrongylus tenuis (Nematoda, Trichostrongylidae)(2020) Yevstafieva, V. The objective of this study was to evaluate the role of chlorophyll and carotenoid in the productivity formation of emmer wheat (Triticum dicoccum (Schrank.) Schuebl) grown under the traditional and organic farming systems and the different pre-sowing seed treatment methods. The base indicators of the photosynthetic apparatus (chlorophyll and carotenoid content, ratio of photosynthetic pigments) were evaluated in the emmer wheat plants as a function of the cultivation technology and pre-sowing seed treatment. The cultivation of the emmer wheat under organic technology was carried out in crop rotation: winter rye–mustard – T. dicoccum wheat. The pre-sowing seed treatment in the traditional technology of emmer wheat cultivation was carried out only by the UV-C irradiation. In the organic technology, both UV-C irradiation and treatment with humic preparation of natural origin “1r Seed Treatment” were used. The content of chlorophyll a (by 9.2%) and chlorophyll b (by 14.5%) increased in the emmer wheat plants under the organic technology cultivation compared to the traditional technology, but with the same method of seed treatment (UV-C irradiation). As a result, the yield increase was 21.0%. The application of the “1r Seed Treatment” humic preparation in the pre-sowing seed treatment led to the increase in yield by ~ 8.0% compared to the plots with UV-C irradiation seeds treatment under organic farming cultivation. An inverse correlation between the ratio of chlorophyll a/ chlorophyll b and the crop yield has been established. The evaluation of economic indicators of the emmer wheat cultivation in the rotation: winter rye-mustard-emmer wheat under organic farming technology, proved its high profitability. So, the photosynthetic pigments’ content and their ratio can be used as the indicators of the efficiency of the introduced elements of agrotechnologies and for predicting future yields.Item GROWTH RESPONSES OF WHEAT SEEDLINGS OF DIFFERENT VARIETIES TO HEAT-STRESS AND THEIR RELATION TO THE ANTIOXIDANT SYSTEM STATE AND OSMOLYTES ACCUMULATION(2023-04) Kolupaev, Yu. E.; Mаkaova, B. E.; Yastreb, T. O.; Ryabchun, N. I.; Tyshchenko, V. M.; Barabolia, O. V.; Shkliarevskyi, M. A.; Тищенко, Володимир Миколайович; Бараболя, Ольга ВалеріївнаIn recent decades, Ukraine has been experiencing abnormally high temperatures and droughts in different seasons, including autumn. This creates stressful conditions for winter cereals, especially wheat, at the very beginning of ontogeny. A comprehensive study of the functioning of antioxidant and osmoprotective systems in the early stages of development for wheat varieties of different ecological and geographical origins has not been conducted yet. This study aimed to investigate the effect of heat stress on the growth of etiolated seedlings of seven varieties of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and the indicators characterizing the functioning of antioxidant and osmoprotective systems.Item Improvingthe production technology of functional paste-like fruit-and-berry semi-finished products(2022-08) Zagorulko, Aleksey; Zahorulko, Andrii; Kasabova, Kateryna; Chuiko, Lyudmila; Yakovets, Lyudmila; Pugach, Andrii; Barabolia, O. E.; Yastreb, T. O.; Ryabchun, N. I.; Kuzmyshyna, N. V.; Shkliarevskyi, M. A.; Barabolia, O. V.; Pysarenko, V. M.; Бараболя, Ольга Валеріївна; Писаренко, Віктор МикитовичThe phenomenon of plant cross-tolerance to various stressors, particularly heat and drought, has been studied in considerable detail. However, there are no data on the relationship between resistance to these stressors in Triticum aestivum cultivars of different ecological and geographical origins at the stage of etiolated seedlings. At the same time, they are used for an accelerated assessment of the heat and drought resistance of breeding samples (separately for each factor). This work compared the response of seedlings of seven winter common wheat cultivars to heat stress (4-hour heating at 45°C) and a model drought (action of 12% PEG 6000). A correlation was found between the inhibition of seedling biomass accumulation as a whole (r=0.55) and separately for shoots (r=0.66) under heat and osmotic stress. A high correlation was shown between inhibition of shoot growth and accumulation of hydrogen peroxide and lipid peroxidation (LPO) products in shoots during heating (r=0.91 and 0.76, respectively) and a much lower correlation between the values of these markers of oxidative stress and inhibition of shoot growth during drought. A significant inverse correlation was found between the accumulation of sugars in the shoots and inhibition of shoot growth under drought (r=-0.85), and moderately high under heat stress (r=-0.60). At the same time, only a positive medium correlation (r=0.49) was observed between proline content and growth inhibition under both types of stress. However, a high positive correlation was found between proline and LPO products under drought conditions (r=0.91). It is concluded that the resistance of wheat seedlings to oxidative stress is more closely related to heat tolerance than to drought tolerance. The results also indicate a significant contribution of sugars, but not proline, to the resistance of wheat seedlings to drought and heat stress.
