The abstract presents the results of a study on the prevalence of demodicosis among dogs of various breed groups in the Poltava region (Ukraine) during 2023–2025. Based on the acarological examination of skin scrapings from 256 dogs using the bischofite-glycerol mixture method, the indicators of the extensiveness of invasion (EI) were determined. It was established that susceptibility to the overpopulation of D. canis mites varies significantly depending on the breed. The highest infestation rates were found in German Shepherds (28.6%), Golden Retrievers (23.8%), French Bulldogs (23.1%), Rottweilers (22.2%), and English Cocker Spaniels (21.4%). In contrast, demodicosis was rarely diagnosed in Dachshunds (4.8%), and no mites were detected in Lapdogs and Dalmatians.
