The article presents the findings of a study on the infestation rate of various cat breeds with the ctenocephaliosis pathogen (Ctenocephalides felis) in the city of Kremenchuk, conducted between 2023 and 2026. Based on the examination of 2,049 animals, the average prevalence of invasion was determined to be 23.3%. Long-haired and semi-long-haired cats were found to be significantly more susceptible to flea infestation (31.4%) compared to short-haired and semi-short-haired breeds (11.9%). The highest infestation rate was recorded among non-pedigree animals and mongrels (57.3%), which is attributed to their housing conditions, outdoor access, and the lack of antiparasitic treatments. Among purebred cats, the invasion prevalence ranged from 2.3% in Bengals to 15.0% in Maine Coons.
