S.; Ільченко, Марія Олександрівна; Шаферівський, Богдан СергійовичThis paper presents the results of an analysis of prospects for the further development of poultry farms, taking into account the existing potential and challenges of the modern poultry industry. Productivity indicators of the Lohmann crossbreeds were studied at “Poltava Poultry Farm” PJSC. The productivity of laying hens and the efficiency of using two lines – Lohmann LSL Light and Lohmann Brown – were assessed. During the laying period, Lohmann Brown hens demonstrated high adaptive capacity and stable productivity. Although Lohmann LSL Light hens adapted well to intensive housing systems, their survival rate was 2% lower than that of Lohmann Brown birds. At the same time, Lohmann LSL Light hens reached peak egg production more rapidly (91.4%) and maintained high productivity throughout the production cycle. V.; Тітаренко, Олена ВікторівнаMycotoxins are toxic secondary metabolites produced by fungi of the genera Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium, Claviceps and Alternaria and represent a significant threat to the safety of cereal crops and animal feed. These compounds may accumulate at various stages of production, storage, and transportation, which necessitates the development and application of effective strategies to reduce their toxic effects. The aim of the study was to perform a comparative evaluation of the adsorption capacity of three mycotoxin-binding agents. The study was conducted under in vitro conditions; therefore, the adsorption efficiency observed may differ under in vivo gastrointestinal conditions. Three commercial mycotoxin binders were tested, each containing 70% inorganic sorbent from the silicate group (bentonite, zeolite, or diatomite) and 30% organic component based on yeast cell walls (sources of mannan oligosaccharides and β-glucans). In preparation No. 1, the organic fraction consisted of yeast cell walls containing 33% MOS and 25% β-glucans; preparation No. 2 contained 20% MOS and 35% β-glucans; and No. 3 contained 20% MOS and 20% β-glucans. The adsorption capacity of the mycotoxin-binding preparations was determined under laboratory conditions using the adsorption isotherm method. All experiments were conducted in eight replicates. The results showed that the highest adsorption efficiency of deoxynivalenol (DON), aflatoxin B1, and zearalenone (ZEA) was observed under acidic conditions (pH 3). The highest sorption of DON, ZEA, and fumonisin B1 (FB1) was achieved by sorbent No. 1 (containing 33% MOS and 25% β-glucans), especially at pH 3. In addition, sorbent No. 1 demonstrated 100% binding of aflatoxin B1 across the entire pH range studied (pH 3, 5, and 7), indicating the stability of its adsorption properties. In contrast, sorbents No. 2 and 3 exhibited relatively low and unstable activity against fumonisin B1; at pH 7, the values ranged from 0.4% to 2.8% The results obtained indicate that sorbent No. 1 can be considered the most versatile and effective for binding the major mycotoxins evaluated in this study.Публікація Effectiveness of ultrasound examination in mono- and mixed infections of dogs(Regulatory Mechanisms in Biosystems, 2026-03-07) Yevstafieva, V. Depending on the parasitic load on the body of a sick animal, the course of the infection varies from asymptomatic to severe, sometimes fatal. In the detection of various pathological conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, an important place belongs to ultrasound examination. It is the fastest, most informative and accessible method of visualization in veterinary medicine, and also allows one to safely assess the state of the abdominal organs and detect pathological changesin good time. The aim of the research was to investigate the informativeness of ultrasound examination of the stomach and small intestine in toxocariasis monoinfection and toxocariasis-cystoisosporiasis co-infection in dogs. It was found that parasitism by Toxocara canis and Cystoisospora canis led to changes in the metric indicators of the stomach and small intestine wall. Even more significant changes were found in toxocariasis-cystoisosporiasis co-infection than in toxocariasis monoinfection. In the latter case, regardless of the weight category of dogs, the changes were characterized by simultaneous thickening of the stomach wall (by 15.4–46.4%) and duodenum (by 10.3%) in dogs weighing 5–15 kg, and duondenum (by 15.1%) in dogs weighing 15–30 kg. Also, in dogs weighing 5–15 kg the thickness of the jejunum wall was reduced by 18.2–32.1%, that of the ileum as well, (by 8.0%) and the ileum wall was thinner in dogs weighing 15–30 kg (by 12.1%). It was found that all dogs infected with T. canis had a thickened submucosal layer of the stomach wall (by 42.9–50.0%) and a thinned mucosal layer of the jejunum wall (by 18.5–35.0%). In dogs weighing 5–15 and 15–30 kg, thickening of the mucous layer of the duodenal wall (by 11.1% and 8.5%, respectively) and thinning of the jejunum wall (by 20.0% and 37.5%, respectively) were detected. In toxocariasis-cystoisosporiasis co-infection, regardless of the weight category of dogs, the changes in the intestines were characterized by thickening of the gastric wall (by 33.3–67.9%), duodenum wall (by 20.9–26.5%) and thinning of the jejunum (by 24.2–39.3%) and ileum wall (by 8.2–15.2%). Changes in the walls occurred due to thickening of all layers of the stomach (by 13.6–80.0%), duodenum (by 12.6–75.0%), as well as thinning of all layers of the jejunum wall (by 20.0–45.0%). Thinning of the ileum wall occurred due to thinning of the mucous layer (by 24.0–40.0%). The problem of using alkaline catalysts is rapid deactivation under the influence of impurities present in the fatty raw material. The greatest influence is exerted by moisture and fatty acids. Transesterification of sunflower oil with increased mass fraction of moisture and acid value in the presence of potassium glyceroxide, which is more resistant to deactivating impurities, was studied. Oil parameters: peroxide value 0.18 ½ O mmol/kg, acid value 0.08 mg KOH/g, mass fraction of moisture 0.05%, crystallization temperature –18.38°C.Oil samples with mass fractions of moisture from 0.1 to 0.75% (obtained by adding water) were stored for two months under the following conditions: temperature (20±2) °C, air humidity not more than 70%. After storage, the acid value was measured in each sample and transesterification was performed. The efficiency of the process was assessed by the oil crystallization temperature. The maximum values of oil indicators at which the potassium glyceroxide catalyst is effective were established: mass fraction of moisture 0.4%, acid value 0.28 mg KOH/g. At the same time, the crystallization temperature of sunflower oil is –3.95°C, which corresponds to the maximum increase in the crystallization temperature of oil as a result of transesterification. The results obtained make it possible to effectively transesterify sunflower and other types of non-standard quality oils without preliminary treatment. This will reduce the cost of production and increase the profitability of enterprises (depending on the indicators of non-standard raw materials).Публікація Evaluation of the Genotypes of Pigs of Different Origins According to the RYR1 and LEP Genes(Acta fytotechn zootechn, 2025) Ilchenko, M. O.; Ільченко, Марія ОлександрівнаUsing the polymerase chain reaction method in real-time, we investigated the polymorphism of the RYR1 and LEP genes in sows of the sizeable white breed of different origins. Following the purpose of the work, we conducted a study of the genetic structure of the above-mentioned genes in animals of French and Belgian breeds and their crossbreeds. No RYR1 gene polymorphism was detected. All experimental animals had the homozygous NN genotype. According to the genetic structure of the LEP gene, a significant difference has been established between animals of different origins. Animals of French breeding had a high frequency of the TT genotype, while in animals of other origins, this genotype did not occur at all. Accordingly, French breeding animals are characterized by a high frequency of the T allele and Belgian and crossbred animals are characterized by the A allele. In French breeding animals, there is a violation of the distribution of genotypes, according to Hardy-Weinberg. Obtaining animals of the desired genotypes among the experimental herd is possible due to the use of breeders with the appropriate genotypes for the studied genes.Публікація Identifying of rational conditions for etherification of sunflower soapstock fatty acids(2025) Birta, G.; Levoshko, N.; Knysh, V.; Usenko, S. Soapstock is a waste of the oil and fat industry, which is formed in the process of alkaline neutralization of oils. The processing of soapstock to obtain fatty acids is promising, since the disposal of waste is difficult and dangerous, and fatty acids are an industrially valuable product. Fatty acids obtained from soapstock are an available raw material for the production of fatty acid esters of low molecular weight alcohols, which are the basis of alternative biodiesel fuel. The influence of the conditions of esterification of fatty acids from sunflower soapstock (CAS Number 61788-66-7) with butanol (CAS Number 71-36-3) in the presence of an alkylbenzenesulfonic acid catalyst on the acid value of the reaction mixture was studied. This indicator reflects an increase in the content of butyl esters. The fatty acids used, obtained from soapstock by decomposition with sulfuric acid, meet the requirements of DSTU 4860 for first-grade fatty acids. The neutralization number of fatty acids is 186.0 mg KOH/g, the mass fraction of moisture and volatile substances is 1.7 %, the mass fraction of total fat is 97.5 %, the depth of cleavage is 67.1 % of oleic acid. Rational conditions for the esterification process have been established, which correspond to the maximum reduction in the acid value of the reaction mixture: duration is 12 hours, catalyst concentration is 3.5 %. In this case, the acid value of the reaction mass was 4.05 mg KOH/g. The product yield was 91.5 %. Product parameters: mass fraction of esters – 92.7 %, mass fraction of total glycerol – 0.20 %, mass fraction of moisture 0.04 %, density at the temperature of 15 °C – 840 kg/m3. M.Pinworms of the genus Heterakis Dujardin, 1845 parasitize a wide range of hosts, including a number of species of domestic and wild birds. Th ese nematodes are ecologically adapted to the climatic conditions of many geographical zones, which contributes to their widespread distribution. Th e aim of the work was to investigate the infl uence of diff erent temperature regimes at laboratory conditions on the growth, development and viability of eggs isolated from the gonads of female nematodes Heterakis gallinarum Schrank, 1788. Th e conducted studies established that, depending on the cultivation temperature, nematode eggs developed from 6 to 56 days, and their survival rate was from 67.7 to 83.7 %. Th e temperature of 25 °С was the most favourable for the development of H. gallinarum eggs, the development lasted 12 days and the highest number of eggs with motile infective larvae was formed (83.7 %). It was found that the period of egg development in cultures gradually decreased with increasing temperature: it was 56 days at 15 °C, 18 days at 20 °C, 12 days at 25 °C and 6 days at 30 °C. Th e survival rate of H. gallinarum eggs gradually increased with increasing temperature in regimes of 15 °С, 20 °С and 25 °С to 67.7 %, 80.7 % and 83.7 %, respectively. At a temperature of 30 °C, egg survival decreased slightly to 78.7 %. It was found that the development of H. gallinarum eggs from the zygote stage to the formation of motile infective larvae, depending on the temperature regime of cultivation, is accompanied by a decrease in egg length by 4.9–5.4 %, an increase in egg width by 4.1–7.6 % and a thinning of the shell by 9.5–28.6 %. The level of dangerous elements of the first class of toxicity - Lead and Cadmium - increases significantly in the tissues of honey bees of the foothills and forest-steppe zones, compared to the conditionally clean mountain environment. In the Carpathian region, all heavy metals accumulate in more significant quantities in the abdominal tissues of honey bees than in the tissues of the chest and head. In the direction from the mountain to the foothills and further to the forest-steppe zone of the Carpathian region, a decrease in the content of esterified forms of fatty acids is observed in the tissues of honey bees. У зв’язку з цим відмова від залучення зарубіжної генетики на сучасному етапі є практично неможливою, попри те що продуктивні показники таких тварин не завжди перевищують характеристики вітчизняних аналогів. Забезпечення конкурентоспроможності галузі свинарства обумовлено, у першу чергу, генетичним потенціалом тварин за м’ясними й відгодівельними ознаками. В останні роки в Україні значно скоротилися кількість порід, поголів’я свиней та суб’єктів господарювання по їх розведенню через ряд об’єктивних та суб’єктивних причин, за все більшої кількості імпортованого поголів’я навіть в племінних стадах. При цьому незаперечною є ефективність використання свиней зарубіжного походження не лише для створення гібридного поголів’я, але й нових типів чи ліній.
